The EU is planning its response to the emergence of crypto-assets such as bitcoin and the effect these new technologies will have on how financial assets are issued, exchanged, shared and accessed. The EU commission plans to publish a proposal for a regulation framework for crypto-assets in Q3 2020. With this consultation between end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, the EU commission consulted market participants and market experts about their regulation wants and needs in the crypto sector.
